Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry is one of the most famous duos of all time. Since 1940, Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse have been making people laugh at the funny scenarios they get themselves into.

The duo started out as a series of theatrical short cartoon films that were played in movie theaters before the featured film. From 1940 to 1957, 114 of these short films were created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The series was so well received that it received the Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Cartoons) seven times.

While the plot of the Tom and Jerry cartoons remained the same, the appearance of Tom changed over time. He went from a cat with overly detailed facial features and shaggy hair that walked on all fours to a sleeker looking feline, with heavy eyebrows, that walked upright. Jerry stayed pretty much the same over the years with his cute little face and batting eyelashes.

Although the original Tom and Jerry cartoons were award winning, they were criticized in later years for having too much violence. Tom and Jerry routinely tried to hurt each other, and very often succeeded, but being cartoons allowed them to bounce right back as if nothing happened. The series was also labeled as being racially insensitive for having characters that were stereotypes of black people, such as the maid, Mammie Two Shoes.

TOM AND JERRY

Tom and Jerry is one of the most popular cartoon series in the world famous not only in childern but people of every age but it is mostly famous in children under 10 year of age who enjoy watching it while drinking milk from there feeder :P .

Tom and Jerry are ever green cartoon no matter how much old is the eposide it look better and better. In tom and jerry there are two character Tom the cat and jerry the mouse, we will discuss them later but first we will look into little history of there famous cartoon.

HISTORY :

Tom and Jerry carton were created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for MGM(Metro Goldwyn Mayer) . yup MGM is that lion roaring in the circle is start of every episode :p. Tom and jerry have short independent episodes moslt less than 5 minutes each .

By looking into Tom and Jerry history you will feel yourself a bit old because it is more than 70 year old series which was started in 1940 O,o. and the best of the cartoons of tom and jerry were made at that time.

The First Era of Tom and Jerry was from 1940-1957 which were initially made by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera which were made for MGM studios. Tom and Jerry won in total 7 Academy Awards and were called the best cartoon series at that time. In total there were 114 short episodes of Tom and Jerry were made at Hanna Barbera time

. After that they shut down the Tom and Jerry Project and Started there own cartoon Production in which they had produced one of the tom cartoons in the world which are famous till now, but the best ever they had made were Tom and Jerry.

The Second time Tom and Jerry was produce was under Gene Ditch who had made tom and jerry for 1 year from 1961 to 1962. Not that much large number of episodes were produced in that time. Ditch primely don’t like Tom and Jerry( Who the hell he was )

But at his time there were 13 short episodes of Tom and Jerry were produce and made.

Then came Jones time from 1963 to 1967 with a little change in emotions and movement of the animated characters in the series. It got also hit there were in total 34 short episodes of tom and jerry made in jones time.
